Currie is the Morning Meteorologist for KXAN News. Growing up (outside of the normal 80s & sunshine) she didn’t experience much in the way of weather. Her love of science began in 2009 after moving in Colorado where she got a taste of snow, thunderstorms and the changing of seasons.
Kristen spent her junior and senior year of college interning in Denver with the ABC & FOX affiliates. She began her on-air career in Lubbock, Texas at the ABC affiliate (KAMC) in 2013. While there she forecasted everything from ice and severe wind events to dust storms and tornadoes. After working in West Texas for a year and a half, she crossed the Stateline and joined the CBS & FOX (KRQE) affiliate in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Currie also worked as the morning meteorologist forecasting for the entire state of NM, southern Colorado and northeastern Arizona for 4.5 years. She is a big foodie and has already began adventuring through ATX’s food & wine scene.
