McCord Retired anchor and reporter working for KSL. He attended Long Beach City College in 1972 and graduated AA in broadcast in 1982. He has anchored at KSL for 39 years, he got interested in the news due to his parent’s love of watching the news and reading newspapers. His career began as a radio DJ in Loveland, Colorado. That led to his first television news job at KYCU in Cheyenne in 1978. He worked at KRDO in Colorado Spring in 1979 before joining KSL in 1981.
Keith’s mustache has been his signature look for years. During his last newscast on Sunday, he announced his first retirement plan was to grow out his beard. He first anchored weekend news in Salt Lake with Don Olsen. McCord had hemochromatosis, which means his body accumulates iron. A normal person would measure under 100 nanograms per milliliter of iron. McCord’s iron levels were close to 2,000.
