After working for a few months she was promoted to the weekday evening news team. Before coming to Birmingham, she worked at WDAM-TV in Hattiesburg, Mississippi as a weekday evening anchor and general assignment/health reporter for five years.
Sheri was recognized six times for outstanding work as an anchor and reporter by the Mississippi Associated Press. She was honored for her coverage of The Mississippi Innocence Project, which helped overturn the case of two women sentenced to 44 years in prison. She also witnessed the 2012 execution of a 35-year-old man convicted of murder at the age of 18 and covered the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. She also covered the February 2013 tornado that ripped through the city.
Falk started her journalism career behind the scenes in her hometown of Fort Lauderdale, Florida working as a traffic producer for local radio stations. She also worked at WTVJ-NBC6 in Miramar, Fla. in the production department.
