Catherine’s decision to leave Milwaukee for San Francisco did not only make headline news, but she may be one of Milwaukee’s only reporters to receive a city proclamation naming a day in her honor. For her, work Heenan has received considerable recognition including the exclusive news series “Cloistered Nuns.”
While working on that series, Heenan and her photographer became the first and only outsiders ever permitted to enter the monastery of the Poor Clares in Los Altos Hills. Her other memorable reports include coverage of the Northridge earthquake, the Women’s World Cup Championship, and the peace plan process in Northern Ireland.
Throughout her career, she has covered everything from papal visits to Mafia trials. Catherine was most recently awarded by American Women in Radio & Television as the Best On-Air Newscast Anchor. She loves books, traveling, old movies, and theatre.
