Fletcher is a morning news anchor for KRON4. He joined the station as a freelance writer and quickly moved up the ranks. Working as a full-time producer, he managed a number of newscasts including KRON4 News Weekend and KRON4 Morning News. He also helped produce the live broadcasts of such high-profile programs as“The S.F. Pride Parade”, “Carnaval San Francisco Parade,” and “Bay to Breakers”. He previously served on the KRON4 Morning News as a weathercaster.
Before joining KRON4, James worked for the NBC station in Chico (KNVN-TV) serving as the main evening anchor. While in the station he also served as a weathercaster, morning anchor, and occasional host of “North Valley Viewpoints” a weekly roundtable discussion of local issues.
Before coming to California, Fletcher worked in the Pacific Northwest for a local cable company in Moscow, ID where he anchored news updates. Prior to that, James lived in Maryland where he hosted two Public Television programs “Backstage News”, and “Performance Profiles” both highlighting local performers and artists.
Since 1993 James has worked in television and says the Bay Area is by far his favorite part of the country to live. He says he has spent time in Hawaii, Maryland, and the Pacific Northwest. Everything he loved about all those places he has found there. Fletcher enjoys theater, traveling, a good book, great television, and dining.
