Jones works as an anchor\reporter at WDIV-TV. Before joining the station he worked for the station from 2012 to 2015 as a general assignment reporter. He spent the first 5 of his 7 years at the station as a general assignment reporter before coming back to Detroit from ABC 7 Chicago.
He became the station’s first race and culture reporter in 2021. In this role, concentrate on amplifying underrepresented voices in the community. Jones attained many Chicago/Midwest Emmy awards while in Chicago, including in 2022 for a short documentary on a trans youth mentorship program.
The Illinois Broadcasters Association also recognized the documentary. In 2015, during his first stint in Detroit, he was honored with a Michigan Emmy award for his special report on Freedom House Detroit, an organization that aids asylum-seekers. It was a personal story for him as he spent several hours each week volunteering at Freedom House Detroit assisting their clients learn English and adjust to life in the United States.
Jones has also worked at television stations in South Carolina, Charleston, Greenville, West Virginia, and in his hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio.his hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio.
