Trent Aric is an American Meteorologist working for WFTX in Naples, Florida, United States as a Weekday Morning Meteorologist from 6 to 11 a.m. He joined the station in 2019. He is a nine-time Emmy Award-winning meteorologist.

Aric is a Weekday Morning Meteorologist for WFTX-TV Fox 4 News from 6 to 11 a.m. He is a nine-time Emmy Award-winning meteorologist. Having spent the previous 15 years in the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale market Trent is no stranger to South Florida Weather.
In 2004, Trent was awarded the Seal of Approval from the American Meteorological Society and in 2010 he was upgraded to the highest level of recognition, the CBM (Certified Broadcast Meteorologist). He started his career in broadcast as a morning and noon meteorologist at WRBL in Columbus, Ga. He then moved to South Florida in 2004, where he was quickly introduced to the tropics. Within his first two years of working at WPLG, he covered two of the most active hurricane seasons ever in the Atlantic Basin. The hurricanes Included Katrina, Wilma, and Charley.
Aric and hurricane specialist/former Director of the National Hurricane Center Max Mayfield won an Emmy Award in 2010 for their hour-long special, “Hurricane House Calls.” He also won an Emmy for the primetime special, “Hurricane Season 2009: Get Ready” and again in December 2008 for “Goin’ Green,” an Earth Day special that highlighted the effects global warming could have on South Florida. “Goin’ Green” also detailed practical solutions people can use in their daily lives to help reduce their carbon footprint.
He then continued his environmental work in South Florida by volunteering his time with the organization “Dream In Green”. He also loves helping FOX 4 with its mission of “Protecting Paradise”. Aric loves music. While in college, he performed at the Nashville Follies Musical Theatre in Nashville, Ind. for five years and even got a taste of Hollywood when he filmed several scenes of the Paramount Pictures release “The Fighting Temptations” in both Columbus, GA, and Atlanta, GA.
Trent loves traveling, fishing, playing the guitar, and spending his free time around town with his son. On the weekends you are likely to see him and his son on Sanibel shelling and playing in the sand.
