Petras is a seasoned TV journalist currently serving as the morning anchor for the CBS affiliate WINK News in Fort Myers, Florida. Joining the WINK News team in June 2018, Taylor initially covered the Lee County Sheriff’s Office beat. Within a year of dedicated reporting, she transitioned to the WINK News Weekend team as an evening anchor, continuing her reporting duties three days a week. Following two successful years in the weekend anchor role, Taylor was subsequently promoted to a full-time anchor for WINK News This Morning.
In 2019, Taylor earned an Emmy nomination for her outstanding reporting on a bomb squad search at a home in Cape Coral. Prior to her work in southwest Florida, she spent three years in Columbia, Missouri, contributing to the ABC affiliate KMIZ. In Columbia, Taylor produced and anchored weekend evening newscasts while simultaneously reporting three days a week. Her coverage spanned a range of topics, including the political journey of former Missouri governor Eric Greitens, the Fall 2015 protests at the University of Missouri, and the fifth anniversary of the Joplin tornado.
During her tenure in mid-Missouri, Taylor received two Heart of America Gold Awards from the Kansas City Press Club. The accolades were for her special report on “Surviving a Mass Shooting” and her comprehensive coverage of human and sex trafficking in the region. A proud graduate of the E.W.
