Chowdhry is a host, reporter, producer, news writer, model, and actress working for News 12 in News Jersey. She embarked on her broadcasting career in 2004 when she joined News 14 Carolina. She later transitioned to News 12 New Jersey. In 2011, she assumed the role of news anchor for “First Forecast Mornings,” a morning show encompassing weather and news, which aired on WWJ-TV in Detroit. “First Forecast Mornings” concluded on December 28, 2012.
In 2013, Chowdhry made a career move to Philadelphia, where she contributed her talents to KYW-TV, another station owned by CBS. Subsequently, she returned to Detroit, joining WXYZ-TV in 2016. However, in 2021, Chowdhry announced her departure from WXYZ-TV and her relocation closer to her extended family. She decided to rejoin News 12, specifically returning to News 12 New Jersey.
Beyond her broadcasting endeavors, Syma has also engaged in modeling work for notable entities such as The Rachael Ray Show, MTV, Pfizer, and various print publications.
