For his investigative documentary about the errors surrounding a natural gas explosion at a restaurant, he was honored with more than ten regional Edward R. Murrow Awards and a major national award from the Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Awards.
He worked as an investigative reporter at WBZ CBS Boston from March 2015 to June 2018. During his there, he was an I-Team reporter who enterprises original investigations that focused on uncovering community problems, exposing taxpayer waste, protecting consumers, and holding public officials accountable. Stories get results and prompt change. He also worked at KSHB-TV Kansas Cith as an investigative reporter from August 2–6 to February 2015. During his time there, he was an award-winning investigative multimedia journalist who researched, wrote, shot, edited, and presented exclusive reports—promoted from general assignment reporter.
Kath and the investigative team have produced two award-winning programs since joining NBC10 Boston in 2018: To Catch a Contractor and Small Town Secrets. Prior to that, Kath worked for WBZ-TV for three years in the Boston market, KSHB-TV for eight years in Kansas City, and KTTC-TV for two years in Rochester, Minnesota. Weekends will find Kath teaching his girls on the sidelines or pursuing his mistaken soccer dreams in the New England over-the-hill league.
