After 20 years of getting up at 2:30 a.m., Ferryman transitioned to his evening role, an opportunity that allowed him to spend more time with his family and to spend more time volunteering in the community.
Since transitioning to his new role, Ferryman has played a pivotal role in boosting ratings, moving the 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. broadcasts from third and fourth place to #1 in the Portland market. His leadership has also helped the station win multiple Edward R. Murrow Awards and Northwest Emmy Awards, including Best Evening Newscast in 2019, 2022, and 2025. Before FOX 12, Ferryman served as a weekday AM Anchor/Reporter at KLAS-TV, a CBS affiliate in Las Vegas, Nevada (1995 to 2000), and at KVAL-TV Eugene (1992 to 1995), where his career began as an editor, producer, reporter, and weekend anchor.
