Delkus works as a meteorologist at WFAA in Dallas, TX. He specializes in television and digital weather forecasting and reporting. When he joined the station, he quickly earned the respect of North Texas viewers by providing timely and accurate weather predictions.

When there is severe weather-flash flooding or tornadoes, hail viewers have come to rely on Pete’s steadfast and thorough approach to his work. For weather anchoring and special show hosting he has won 19 Emmy Awards. He is board certified by the National Weather Association and the American Meteorological Society.

Delkus enrolled at Mississippi State University for his master’s level meteorology courses and received a Bachelor of Science from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville (SIUE). In 1987, he signed in with the Minnesota Twins organization. He has earned several awards including the Rolaids Relief Man and the “Minnesota Twins Minor League Player of the Year.”

Due to a serious elbow injury, his career ended prematurely. For 6 years, he played professional baseball with the Twins organization. Turning to his degree in Television/Radio communications, he landed a job at WFTV, the ABC affiliate in Orlando, Florida for four years as a meteorologist.

He was the chief meteorologist at WCPO-TV, the ABC affiliate in Cincinnati, Ohio from 1996 to 2005. Through his exclusive coverage of the deadly Tornado of “99, he made his mark in Cincinnati as the “severe weather leader.” During this tenure, he received many honors including a pair of first-place Associated Press (AP) Awards for best regularly scheduled weather.
