Poteet is a weekend evening Meteorologist who works at WKRC. The “Super Outbreak” of tornadoes on April 3, 1974, is the first significant meteorological occurrence he can recall. On the same day that tornadoes ravaged Xenia, Ohio, they also wreaked havoc in his area. As a radio DJ in Fort Wayne, Indiana, he started his broadcasting career while he was just a teenager. However, Paul began covering the weather for television in Indianapolis in the middle of the 1980s and remained there for more than thirty years.
His ongoing fascination with nature led to more research. Paul has a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State. The meteorologist is also an entrepreneur with experience collaborating with travel companies and media outlets to create content that blends local activities into video weather updates. Additionally, he runs a forensic meteorology company that investigates historical weather events and informs insurance firms and lawyers of its conclusions.
He and his wife are eager to leave their empty nest and travel after spending so much time in the same spot. When a “tower cam” is displayed, Paul’s inner weatherman becomes excited about being able to view hills and the Ohio River behind him. Due to her German heritage, Mrs. P is enthusiastic about all the festivals taking place in the Tri-State. Consequently, whether you see Paul eating sausage and sauerkraut or working off that meal by running down a route.
