At WSET ABC 13 in Lynchburg, Virginia, Martin serves as the anchor of Good Morning Virginia, WSET’s weekday morning news program. She has anchored the broadcast since 1998, making her one of the station’s longest-serving personalities. Martin began her career at WSET ABC 13, working behind the scenes, operating cameras and audio equipment before advancing to direct the station’s 6:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. newscasts.
She later moved into the newsroom as an assignment editor and reporter, gaining experience in news gathering and field reporting. Over time, she transitioned into anchoring and eventually became the longtime face of Good Morning Virginia. One of her favorite assignments was covering the transition of VMI from a single-sex institution to a co-ed college.
