Ehrenberg currently serves as the Chief Meteorologist for our Gainesville Affiliate and anchors the CBS12 News at 3 PM, Monday through Friday. In June 1999, he started working for CBS 12 on weekends at 6, 6:30, and 11 PM. Whenever necessary, he fills in on other evening programs. Additionally, he creates and broadcasts weather-related stories. Michael also takes pleasure in visiting schools to inform students about the weather as well as broadcasting and meteorology vocations. He also takes pleasure in giving seminars on hurricane preparedness. In December 2007, Ehrenberg received the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) Seal. The American Meteorological Society’s (AMS) Seal of Approval has been upgraded.
In 1989, Michael began working for the weather consultancy company ION Weather in his home state of New Jersey. He began working for the National Weather Service in Miami in 1994. Experts at the National Hurricane Center, which is situated next to the National Weather Service, taught him about hurricanes and tropical meteorology. In 1996, he relocated to West Palm Beach and started working at WPBF Channel 25. He attended Rutgers University, where he earned a master’s degree in meteorology. His interests include finance, tennis, reading, the beach, and water skiing. Michael enjoys discussing the weather and is always open to inquiries.
