His interest in broadcast meteorology started when he watched the weather during dangerous thunderstorms and hid when the tornado sirens went off. This made him yearn to learn the knowledge the forecasters on TV had used to protect his family so that he could protect other families just as they did.
According to Bohling, sports is always his second love in life. His favorite sport is hockey which he played for 14 years and ended with a National Bronze Medal his senior year of high school and a Texas State Championship. His love for sports continues as he watches the Rangers, Mavericks, Stars, Cowboys, Rangers, and the Oklahoma Sooners.
