At 23, Abela was diagnosed with thyroid cancer after noticing a lump in her neck and feeling very tired. This happened shortly after filming season one of “Industry”. Abela later shared that recovery took time and it took months before she felt like herself again. However, she got teated and she recovered, and she is now in good health.
