Gardner is an investigative reporter and producer for WRDW-TV. Being a multi-award-winning investigative journalist who has covered communities in Georgia, South Carolina, and Florida. Having more than15 years of experience from the field to the anchor desk, she is most proud of her investigations that have sparked real change from saving a child caught in a child welfare legal mistake, to exposing flaws in public housing that changed federal law, shutting down bad businesses and exposing questionable spending at a top national non-profit, the Wounded Warrior Project.
Lynnsey began her career at WRDW-TV in Augusta and at the age of 25 she won her first Edward R. Murrow Award for uncovering one of the city’s oldest funeral homes was improperly disposing of human remains. She also covered the news from the weekend anchor desk to the morning anchor desk working with Tim Strong her colleague. Afterward she moved to Jacksonville, Florida where she worked for eight years and helped to launch the ITEAM at WJXT.
Throughout her career Gardner was recognized with several awards including a Murrow award, GABBY Awards, an Emmy for outstanding investigative journalism, and a multiple Associated Press. While still in Augusta, UGA recognized her with the John E. Drewry Award for Young Alumni Achievement.
