Her love for the news later eventually took her to Pensacola where she was working as a weekend anchor and reporter. While there, she was covering Hurricane Ivan in the year 2004 and Hurricane Katrina in the year 2005. Additionally, she also flew with the Navy’s elite Blue Angels which was a thrilling adventure until the pilot successfully caused her to blackout several times.

Asides from her career as an Anchor, she is an author of Norman Gnome Books. This name came up from a gnome named Norman that was placed in their garden by News 6 anchor Ginger Gadsden. The idea to own their own garden came in after a visit to Leu Gardens in Orlando in 2018. There, their two sons fell in love with the vegetable garden and she, therefore, decided to have her own.

The day after planting their own garden saw her co-worker, Ginger Gadsden place a gnome that was discovered by the boys the day after. It is after naming the gnome Norman that she started writing short stories about Norman the Gnome. Since then, she has been able to publish two children’s books, Norman the Gnome has Colorful Friends, and Norman the Watchful Gnome.

She hopes that her books will inspire parents and children to discover all the benefits of gardening. This include boosting nutritional, mental, and physical health and helping the planet. Additionally, embedded in her stories are also messages of diversity, friendship, love, and inclusiveness.
