Healy attended Lyndon State College where he studied between 2016 and 2017. While there, he was a member of Twilight Players Theater Group and Local AMS Chapter Membe. There, he was privileged to gain skills in Forecasting. Afterward, he went on to join State University of New York at Oswego where he studied between 2017 and 2020.
There, he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Atmospheric Sciences and Meteorology. During his time at the station he was a member of AMS/NWA Local Chapter Member, WTOP-TV | Your Television Meteorologist, and Ultimate Frisbee Club. There, he was privileged to gain skills in Forecasting, Web Content Writing, Broadcasting, and Journalism.
Liam Healy Career
Healy works for WROC Channel 8 News serving the station as a Weekend Morning Meteorologist. He states that while working for the station, he has been able to earn skills in Web Content Writing, Social Media, Forecasting, Broadcasting, and Journalism.
He states that he is happy to be back along Lake Ontario not just for the beautiful sunsets but also for the weird and wacky weather which can only be found on the great lakes. Prior to joining WROC News, he was working for WVNS-TV in West Virginia serving the station as a Morning Meteorologist for Appalachia. There, he worked between April 2020 and May 2022.
Aside from this, he has also previously worked for WTOP-10 TV in Oswego, New York where he joined the station in September 2017 serving as a Storm Team 10 Meteorologist. He served in the same role until May 2019. In the month of May 2019, he went on to become Chief Meteorologist for the station and served in this role until April 2020.
Prior to this, he was working for Spectrum News serving the team as a Freelance Meteorologist. He served in this role between November 2019 and February 2020. This is in addition to working for the Lake Effect Snow Prediction and Research Center in Oswego, New York serving the station as a Forecaster. He worked for the station between September 2017 and April 2019.
Healy began his meteorology career working for Fox 5 (WNYW-TV New York) in the Greater New York City Area serving the team as a Meteorology Intern. He worked for the station between June 2018 and August 2018. Aside from his career as a meteorologist, he has also previously served as a Travel Agent for DHO Travel. He served in this role in Bronx, New York between April 2017 and August 2017.
