Laura Monteverdi is an American journalist of Puerto Rican descent who is working for KARK as an evening anchor alongside Bob Clause. She joined the station in September 2020.

Monteverdi serves KARK as an evening anchor. She joined the station in September 2020. Prior to this, she served  THV11 in Little Rock as a morning anchor. Also, she served as the co-host of a 60-minute lifestyle show. The program featured live music and concentrated on the community and trending topics.  Before Arkansas, she served in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at KDLT as a morning anchor and reporter.

While there, she learned how to do everything such as skiing and milking a cow, as part of her own weekly beat, “Life with Laura.” During her time in college, she served as an anchor and reporter for her university’s news program, Florida Focus. Additionally, she served WFLA in Tampa on Daytime, a nationally syndicated morning talk program as an intern.

Following her loss of a loved one due to a drug overdose, she fights against the opioid epidemic and educates the community about addiction and recovery. Also, she serves to terminate the stigma of addiction.  Through this, she attained two Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards and two Regional Emmy awards. In February 2020, the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA) awarded her with the National Newsmaker award.

She attained the award in recognition of her going above and beyond to educate the public on substance abuse. Moreover, she travels the state sharing her story with youth organizations, local churches, and schools. On a side note, she loves to travel, bike, and hike. Else, she enjoys everything the Natural State has to offer with her rescue dog, Juneau.
