In 2022, one of her reports on an interview with a woman who survived an attack by an accused killer in Cedar Rapids was distinguished with 1st place in General Reporting at the Iowa Broadcast News Association awards.
Furthermore, in 2022, Kristin was promptly on the scene after a plant explosion in Marengo, an incident that left several people injured. The team’s dedicated coverage of the event and its aftermath earned them a regional Edward R. Murrow award for KCRG-TV9. Kristin’s journey took another turn in February 2023, as she assumed her role at the anchor desk, marking a new chapter in her career.
