Her true love is forecasting the weather, however, she loves news reporting and telling people’s stories.
Being an award-winning reporter, Kristin was nominated for an Emmy for her work covering the deadly tornado outbreak in Alabama in 2011. Throughout her career years, she has reported on everything from sports to politics to medicine and covered every kind of weather event such as tornadoes, floods, ice storms, hurricanes, blizzards, and mudslides. One of her most memorable stories is Hurricane Andrew in Florida.
Emery is a member of the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association and owns the seals of approval from both. She is also a fellow of the RIAS Berlin Commission through RTDNA and reported from Germany on the 60th anniversary of the Berlin Airlift, issues surrounding German reunification, and the formation of the European Union. During her free time, she is outside enjoying golfing, the ski slopes, and scuba diving. Her favorite hobbies include traveling and following Pittsburgh and WVU sports teams.
