Cook joined KGW in the summer of 2007 as a general assignment reporter. As a native Oregonian, she is passionate about telling stories in and about her community. the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Northwest Chapter honored her with an Emmy for individual achievement in reporting in 2022.
Cook is an Edward R. Murrow Award winner for Excellence in Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity and a Western Regional Associated Press Mark Twain Award winner for feature reporting. She earned more than a dozen Emmy nominations for investigative series on Portland gangs, sports reporting guns and prostitution, and news writing.
She started her tv career in Southern Oregon as the weekend anchor for KDRV (ABC) in Medford and Klamath Falls Bureau Chief. For two years, she reported for KKTV (CBS) in Colorado Springs, CO. She was raised in Portland and graduated from Reynolds High School. Then she joined Mt. Hood Community College and Western Oregon University and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communication.
When she’s not working, she loves to run, paint, garden, and play the violin. She cheers for Denver Broncos, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Portland Trail Blazers. Cook is also a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.
