While in Texas, he was twice named the Texas Association of Broadcasters (TAB) Multimedia Journalist of the Year (2022 & 2023) and TAB Reporter of the Year (2023).
Joshua has won state and regional awards for his breaking news coverage, health reporting, beat reporting, environmental/energy reporting, continuing coverage, using creative writing and standups. His stories about pollution and land destruction caused by oil and gas operations in West Texas won a 2023 Edward R. Murrow Award for Continuing Coverage and a 2023 TAB Award for Specialty/Beat Reporting.
Being a service academy graduate, Skinner spent most of his twenties gallivanting around the Atlantic, Europe, and the Middle East, courtesy of the U.S. taxpayer. During his free time, he loves being at the gym or in a good history book (currently working on Battle Cry of Freedom). He believes putting pineapple on pizza is an unforgivable crime.
