Jordan Norkus Education
Upon completion of her high school education, Norkus went on to join Sacred Heart University in 2014. After completing her undergraduate studies in 2014, she became its alumnus with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Media Arts with an emphasis on Journalism and Theatre Arts (Musical Theatre). Further, she holds a Master of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism and Media Production from the instuitiotion which she attained in 2019.
During her stint there, she was involved with the student-run TV news program and newspaper, among a number of other media-related clubs and activities. She joined the News 4 team in October 2021. Prior to Buffalo, she served in Elmira at WETM as a primetime evening news anchor for 18 News for 2 years. The New York State Broadcasters Association acknowledged her for “Outstanding Public Service Announcement/Campaign” for a project she put together during Mental Health Awareness Month in 2021. Across New York and Pennsylvania, she asked leaders about the meaning of mental health to them and thus compiled their remarks.
Fashion icon Tommy Hilfiger, Gov. Kathy Hochul, Sen. Chuck Schumer, as well as 30 others, partook in her project. Before that, she served WSHU Public Radio — Connecticut and Long Island’s NPR-affiliated radio station as an intern and a freelance reporter. On Connecticut’s legislature, she beat reported and conveyed her stories to approximately 300,000 daily listeners. When she’s not working, she loves eating pasta, binge-watching TV programs, and spending time with her bearded dragon. Els,e she enjoys getting to know viewers.
