Walsh works as an evening meteorologist at KSNB Local4. In the year 1990, he started forecasting in his hometown of Hastings at KHAS-TV. In 2012, he moved to KMTV the Omaha market to forecast weather, but prior to that, he took over the weather department in 1997. He started forecasting weather for 10/11 News viewers in 2017 at Gray Television. In early 2020, he was elevated to Chief Meteorologist at NBC Nebraska.
Walsh’s most satisfying aspects of the job are anticipating and responding to the public’s daily need for weather information. Walsh loves Nebraska because of how the elements come together creating some of the most diverse weather on the planet, unlike other places that are colder, hotter, wetter, or dryer.
