Prior to working at KTVI|FOX2, he worked at KSDK-5 On Your Side where he served as a news reporter and anchor from March 1986 to November 1997. He had previously spent 3 years working at WBAY-TV in Green Bay, Wisconsin where he served as an anchor and reporter from April 1983 to March 1986. Prior to that, he worked at WSAW-TV where he served as a producer, photographer, and news anchor from January 1983 to April 1983.
From May 1982 to December 1982, Pertborn worked at WISC-TV in Madison, Wisconsin where he served as a reporter.
