Atwater works for WCVB-TV Channel 5 as a general assignment reporter. Before joining the station, he worked at WTXF-TV in Philadelphia, Pa. He worked as a general assignment reporter and anchor for the weekend newscasts.
In Philadelphia, he covered the scene of many stories that generated intense national attention, including the US Airways flight that landed in the Hudson River and the Amish school shooting in Lancaster County.
