Calhoun serves as the Chief meteorologist and weathercaster at 5, 5:30, 6, WGAL 8.2, News 8 at 11 p.m., and WGAL News 8 at 10 on MeTV Susquehanna Valley. After graduating from college, he kickstarted his career working at Freese-Notis Weather, Inc. where he served as a meteorologist based in Des Moines, Iowa. He later on left Freese-Notis Weather, Inc. and joined KETV in Omaha, Nebraska where he served as a broadcasting meteorologist.
During his tenure at KETV-TV, he managed to co-produce a 30-minute severe weather awareness and safety segment called “When the Siren Sounds.” He has also won several awards and honors including the Iris Award by the National Association of Television Program Executives nomination. In addition to that, he is an active member of the American Meteorological Society and owns the Seal of Approval for Television Weathercasting in May 1984. Whenever he is not working, he enjoys spending his free time with his family and friends.
