Her journey in television began in her hometown of Nashville, where she served as an Associate Producer, Web Editor, and Weekend Producer at WKRN-TV. Two years later, she embarked on a cross-country adventure to Butte/Bozeman, Montana, where she started as a Reporter but quickly rose to the position of Morning Anchor at KXLF/KBZK-TV. After enduring two years of frigid, arctic temperatures, she left behind nothing but her parka and snow boots before heading to Columbia, South Carolina.

There, she spent two years as a Reporter/Weekend Anchor at WACH Fox News. Jerrita’s journalism journey then led her to Florence, Alabama, where she spent a year as a Bureau Reporter with WHNT-TV. Her next destination was Richmond, Virginia, where she assumed the role of Weekend Anchor/Reporter and proudly earned two Emmy Awards before departing in 2015. Her next stop was Memphis, Tennessee, where she spent three years as an Anchor/Reporter. She currently works as a reporter for the CBS station and feels honored to be part of such an incredible community.

Throughout her career, Patterson has conducted interviews with a wide range of individuals, from poet Nikki Giovanni and former NBA player Alonzo Mourning to President Barack Obama. However, her most memorable interview was with 101-year-old South Carolina native Donella Wilson, a self-proclaimed political enthusiast who has been voting for decades and proudly described it as “exercising a right once denied.”

When she’s not working, you can find Patterson cheering on her Hampton Pirates, volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, expanding her shoe collection, roller-skating, or striving to maintain her title as the “Best Auntie” to her precious niece, Brooklyn. Her motto is, “Never settle until your dreams become reality, but never forget that your reality is someone else’s dream.” Patterson affectionately refers to herself as a “lifeaholic” and lives life to the fullest, feeling blessed to live out a dream that allows her to share stories that impact the community every day.
