Her news philosophy is simple: to tell good stories. Some of the major stories she has covered include the Binghamton shooting rampage live from the scene, the 911 anniversary live from Shanksville, the D.C. area sniper attacks, and the attack on the Pentagon live from the scene.
Jennifer has also interviewed top political players like John McCain, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Rudy Giuliani, Jesse Jackson, and Dick Cheney. She has also worked in Washington D.C., for several networks: SRN News, NBC News, and Fox News Channel. While at NBC under tight deadlines, she produced stories for affiliates across the country. She also helped coordinate live coverage at the Bush headquarters for the 2004 presidential election.
During her time at SRN, where she gathered news on Capitol Hill, Borrasso wrote and anchored live hourly newscasts for a radio network serving more than 1,500 stations. She was nominated for two Emmy Awards in 2022. One for her exclusive sit-down interview with the mother of Caitlyn Kaufman, a young ICU nurse slain during an apparent road rage incident in Nashville. The second was for her work with the KDKA team during the Fern Hollow Bridge collapse. Afterward, in 2023 she got a third nomination.
