Bellamy serves WXIA as an anchor of 11Alive at 5 & 11 p.m. She joined 11Alive in April 2015. Further, she has served the station for more than half a decade. Nonetheless, her career launched when she served in Macon, Georgia at 13WMAZ as a reporter, producer, and substitute anchor. During her time there, she served as a host of segments and responded to her audience’s weekly questions through “Get Answers.”
Also, she awarded the Golden Spatula to restaurants for cleanliness and reported low health inspection scores. Moreover, she served in Columbia, South Carolina at News19 as a general assignment and political reporter. Later, she was raised to serve as a weekend anchor. While there, she interviewed a number of several presidential candidates.
For instance, Herman Cain and former Texas Governor Rick Perry, and former South Carolina Governor and United Nations Ambassador, Nikki Haley. Additionally, she served as a member of the News19 team that attained a 2015 Alfred I. DuPont-Columbia University Award for Outstanding Local Television Investigative Reporting.
Also, she served as a contributor to the nonstop broadcast of South Carolina’s Department of Social Services following the deaths of children and reports of issues at the state agency. Her work broadcasting the agency gained a South Carolina Broadcasters Association STAR award. Through the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Southeast Chapter, she attained various regional Emmy Awards nominations counting a nomination for an outstanding anchor.
When she is not broadcasting or reporting, she loves cheering on the Bulldogs and the Falcons, and any other Atlanta team with red in their colors. Else, she loves music, traveling, eating out, and spending time with her family and friends. To boot, she serves as a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., a national, non-profit, service sorority.
