Bernstein is an anchor for FOX61 News at 4 and 10 p.m. She also reports on Connecticut politics and anchors “The Real Story”, which airs at 10 a.m. on Sundays. She won an Emmy award in 2015 for her story “Anatomy of An Attack Ad,” which analyzed campaign messages during Connecticut’s contentious gubernatorial contest.
Jenn came back to the FOX61 family in August 2014. From 2010 to 2012 she served the station as a general assignment reporter. At that time, she received an Emmy nomination for a series of stories she did on bullying in schools. In her two years, she also covered severe weather events where she reported live during the 2010 Blizzard. In the year 2010 Bernstein reported from the beach in Fairfield when Tropical Storm Irene hit Connecticut. After two months she was live on the Berlin Turnpike as the October Nor’Easter slammed the state, knocking out power to almost 900,000 homes in Connecticut.
Bernstein also focused on politics, which included covering the 2010 campaign for Governor where Democrat Dan Malloy faced off against Republican Tom Foley. At this time, Jenn was also an Adjunct Graduate Journalism Professor at Quinnipiac University. She continued her reporting career at KYW-the CBS affiliate in Philadelphia where she served from 2012 to 2014.
While at KYW, Jenn reported on the aftermath of the Penn State Sex Abuse Scandal and also hunkered down in Atlantic City to cover preparations for Hurricane Sandy. Bernstein provided live reports from the beach, for KYW and WCBS in New York City, the day the storm made landfall as waves pounded Steel Pier and catastrophic flooding put much of the city underwater. While being escorted by The National Guard, she reported from Long Beach Island on the clean-up efforts.
Bernstein did several live reports for CBS This Morning and her work also aired on CBS affiliates around the country. Before coming to Connecticut and Philadelphia, she worked in the Buffalo and Albany television markets.
