Wu works as ac at WCVB. She co-hosts WCVB’s “On The Record,” with Ed Harding. The program airs on Sunday mornings at 11 AM. She has worked as a reporter in Boston for 47 years, reporting politics for 45 years, and before worked as WCVB’s NewsCenter 5 Massachusetts political reporter for more than 3 decades.
In December 2020 she was inducted into The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) Boston/New England Chapter’s Silver Circle. As a key member of WCVB’s political unit the NATAS Boston/New England chapter presented her with an Emmy at the 2015 Emmy® Awards.
During the 2014 campaign season, an ongoing initiative entitled “Commitment 2014” the award, in the Continuing Coverage – No Time Limit category, recognized her work on the station’s political reporting. The Asian Community Development Corporation awarded her the ‘Inspiration Award’ for her consummate work as a political reporter in 2015.
At the 2011 commencement, she received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree from Emerson College and got inducted into the Massachusetts Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2010. Prior to joining the station, she was the State House reporter for WGBH-TV, Boston’s public television station. Wu served as a reporter for United Press International.
She was among the team at WCVB honored on numerous the team at WCVB honored on numerous occasions with the coveted Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Political Journalism. WCVB was recognized for its candidate-orientated reporting and its effort to report issues important to the local community.
She was awarded top honors in the Associated Press Investigative/ Enterprise category and for Investigative Reporting for her report entitled “Public Property, Private Lies” s awarded the prestigious Edward R. Murrow Award.
In 1989 the station’s political team was honored with a First Place National Headliners Award and for the best political report of any station in the nation she was awarded a Murrow Award. She was educated at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor where she later received a bachelor’s degree.
