She kickstarted her journalism career by working at WHTM-TV in Harrisburg where she served as a Weather Anchor and Reporter.
Stelson left WHTM-TV in 1989 and joined WPLG-TV where she served as a reporter and anchor. During her tenure at WPLG-TV, she enclosed a ton of extreme weather events including Haitian riots, hurricanes, and storms, just to mention a few. She later on joined WHP-TV in Harrisburg where she served as the 6 and 11 p.m. anchor. She also spent some time working at WITF public radio where she served as the host of a statewide public television broadcast.
Stelson went to the University of Puget Sound where she attained her Bachelor’s degree in Politics and Government. She also went to the Austro-American Institute in Vienna, Austria where she studied international politics and advanced German language. In addition to that, she also interviewed President Joe Biden, British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, Senator and presidential contender John McCain, and U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright.
