Jan graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology from Iowa State University in 2017. During her time at Iowa State, she played an active role in the American Meteorological Society ISU student chapter and the Central Iowa National Weather Association chapter. Additionally, she was heavily involved in the school’s weather broadcast program, Cy’s Eyes on the Skies, where she took on the role of director and producer.
Soon after her college graduation, she wasted no time and started her first job just two days later in Lincoln, Nebraska. Her professional journey led her to work for Gray TV’s network of stations across the state, where she spent three years contributing her expertise to stations such as KOLN, KSNB, KNOP, and KNEP.
