Before attending EAHS, she was a student at Central Primary and Central Middle schools in the Gonzales area of Ascension Parish. Wheat attended the University of South Alabama. While attending the University of South Alabama, she also worked as an intern at WBRZ. Wheat is currently finishing up a strenuous curriculum at The University of South Alabama where she is majoring in meteorology with a concentration in broadcast and minoring in communication and mathematics. In her communications courses, she has worked on filming and editing packages with Adobe Premier, worked with RunDown Creator, and saw what it takes to make a newscast come together. She is set to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in May.
Jacelyn Wheat Career
Wheat is a meteorologist working for WBRZ-TV. She pursued a career in meteorology by combining her love of public speaking with her curiosity. She will work as the weekend meteorologist for WBRZ because she likes the challenge of predicting. Prior to working as an intern at WBRZ-TV, Wheat worked as a logistics specialist from August 2018 at Allied Sales & Service Co.Inc. in Mobile, Alabama.
She also served as a student meteorologist at Atmoscentre from November 2020 to June 2022. While there, she provided weekly weather forecasts for the University of South Alabama’s Atmosscentre. Wheat, a Gonzales native, grew up with a love of giving, assisting, and protecting people. Wheat currently resides in Ascension Parish and enjoys dining out shopping, and live music.
