While in high school, he created an internet radio station, calling high school sports across the fall, winter, and spring of his senior and junior high school years. In addition, he served as the voice of countless little league district, section, and state all-star competitions for baseball as a public address announcer.
After joining college, Isaac took the role of lead Play by Play and Sports Director of UT’s on-campus radio station, WXUT. For over two years, he was accountable for voicing more than 250 Toledo athletic events. He presently holds positions with BCSN and ESPN in the Toledo, Ohio, area, calling countless events ranging across multiple sports. While in his junior year, Petkac accepted an offer to work as a reporter and MMJ with Erie News Now, a television station in Erie, PA.
Ever since he joined, he has covered a variety of critical issues, including a presidential election that circled Erie County, the economic crisis facing Erie during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the financial divide separating Erie from success. For the top investigative reports in the state, “Tracking Your Tax Dollars,” he was awarded in 2020 by the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters. The report emphasized how Erie County and the surrounding area were not provided with appropriate funding through several grant programs despite promises of fair distribution of funding from the state.
The report also documented how a local Erie business proprietor was set to obtain thousands of taxpayer dollars in grant funding, despite falsely certifying she was qualified for the money. During his free time, he loves to play tennis regularly and announces local sporting events as a play-by-play broadcaster. He also bleeds the gold and black of the Pittsburgh Penguins, Pirates, and Steelers and also occasionally find him singing in choirs or different shows.
