Grimes appeared in episode 6 of Naked and Afraid season 10 – t was titled “Baked Alaskan.” She and Jon Hart (an athlete from Pennsylvania), spent 21 days in the extreme heat of Chacahua, Mexico -with nothing but their survival skills. Grimes adjusted from freezing Alaskan weather to temperatures as high as 130 degrees. Also, she survived a tarantula bite – and later ate 1 as payback.
During their journey, Grimes and Jon Hart survived on beach fruits, crabs, and berries. They kept the flesh-eating insects away by making fire. Grimes was badly bitten by fleas and ants – this left scabs all over her body that took half a year to heal. Despite the rough waters, Grimes and Jon Hart swam to the extraction point and completed the challenge as winners.
Grimes grew up building resilience through a rugged outdoor lifestyle – it shaped her into the strong woman she is today. As a former 1st responder in remote areas, she faced unique challenges in policing and emergency work. Her career was cut short by a serious accident caused by a reckless driver -but she turned that setback into strength. Grimes later opened up about her mental health journey, competed on reality TV, and went on to create a wilderness retreat to help others heal through nature.
