Miller attended Naperville Central H.S. in 1971, where he graduated in Drama and Dramatics and Theatre Arts General in 1974. During his time there, he was inducted into the Naperville Central High School Hall of Fame as a national sportscaster. He then enrolled at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale in 1974. He graduated With A Bachelor of Arts degree in Radio and television in 1978.

Miller is a sports anchor at WKRC. Before working at WKRC, he worked for KCAL and KCBS in Los Angeles. During his time there, he served as a host of the L.A. Dodger’s pre-game -show. Before his work in the Loa Angeles television and radio market, he served as an anchor for ESPN’s Emmy Award-winning SportsCenter and Baseball Tonightbroadcaste for over a decade. The experience had him handling everything from live reporting and packaging to postseason, spring training, and All-star game coverage.
Additionally, while at ESPN, Miller handled play-by-play for Major League Baseball (MLB), feature and sideline reporting on Sunday and Monday Night Baseball. Furthermore, his work included a weekly column for ESPN.com as well as play-by-play reporting for MLB, College, and little league world Series. He hosted live, hour-long road shows at Super Bowls and final fours.
In 1978 he began working for WSAV-TV as a sports director, the station was across the streets from Grayson Stadium, so he covered the Savanna Braves Including Jim Bouton’s Comeback, and a division champ with future big leaguers Steve Bedrosian. Additionally, he covered Herschel Walker in High school at Wrightsville and from his very first collegiate game in Knoxville.
