He delivers weather forecasts on CBS47 and FOX30 during Action News Jax This Morning from 4:30 AM to 9 AM, as well as on CBS47 Action News Jax at Noon from Monday to Friday. Garrett’s journey into meteorology began when he realized his passion for being a TV weatherman in the third grade, despite once having a fear of storms. Today, he fearlessly tracks storms down to street level using First Alert Doppler HD.
In May 2014, Garrett joined the First Alert Weather Team as a Weekend Meteorologist, starting his meteorological career at the local FOX affiliate in Columbia, South Carolina in 2012. He’s particularly drawn to tropical storms and hurricanes, which is why he enjoys the Jacksonville area and the frequent spring and summer weather patterns. Garrett holds the title of Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) from the American Meteorological Society and is an active member of the National Weather Association.
He worked at WACH FOX 57 as a morning meteorologist in Columbia from July 2013 to May 2014. In addition, she was a meteorologist and Multi-media journalist from May 2012 to July 2013. During his time there, he served as a morning meteorologist for Good Day Columbia each weekday morning from 5 to 9 a.m., a weekend Meteorologist/ reporter, and a multi-media journalist for the SkyWACH weather Team.
Garrett actively engages with the community on social media and encourages viewers in northeast Florida and southeast Georgia to share their weather-related photos and videos using #FirstAlertWX. In his spare time, you can often find him at the gym, exploring northeast Florida, participating in community events, visiting family and friends, cheering for his favorite sports teams, and discussing his favorite topic: weather.
