While in California, she worked for CityTV-Lakewood, a government-owned station in Lakewood, California, and KUSI San Diego as a freelance reporter.
During Frankie’s time, in San Diego she covered the PGA Farmers Insurance Open and one season of high school football. While working in Idaho she worked four years working her way up from a multimedia journalist to morning weather anchor. She also won several awards for her work as a journalist. Some of her favorite stories include helping free Idaho man who was wrongfully imprisoned overseas and assisting lawmakers in reforming animal cruelty laws across the state.
For the past two years, Katafias embraced her love for meteorology and turned to it full-time. Snow, rain, and shine, she helped Idahoans plan out their days accordingly making sure they knew what to expect (and pack) across the valleys and mountains. During her free time, you can find her and her dogs, Bandit and Nika around Western Washington. She is a big Kraken, Seahawks, UDub, and Mariner’s fan (Go Dawgs!).
