Mastromatteo is an evening anchor at 5, 5:30 and 6 pm for WICU-TV / WSEE-TV. What helped her choose a career in communication was the competing in speech and debate in high school. She realized she wasn’t afraid of being in front of people most especially after placing on the state level and making it to the National Forensic Tournament in high school.
Soon after graduating from college, Eva began working for WDPN in Alliance, OH as a radio news reporter. While there she covered city council and school board meetings and did daily, radio newscasts. However, she always wanted to write and broadcast TV news, therefore she took a job at WDTV in West Virginia as a bureau reporter, where she covered Morgantown-area. The bureau never materialized; therefore, she lugged a camera and equipment home each night and slept with a police scanner.
Afterward Mastromatteo moved back to the Buckeye state to work at WMFD, a cable station in Mansfield, OH as an anchor and reporter job. She then got a job at WYTV in Youngstown. She anchored, reported, and produced before and after the station joined WKBN and FOX Youngstown. During over time, she interviewed celebrities who came to town, filed feature and breaking news reports, and even reported from Nashville, TN for the Country Music Awards.
Eva left Youngstown to take a job as a morning anchor and reporter in Wilkes-Barre, PA, and later moved to the Lake Erie Region to join the Erie News Now team. She loves reporting, anchoring, news writing, and all that comes with it. She also loves meeting viewers, getting out in the community, and being a part of events in the area. She is an Indians fan, and love going to MLB baseball games. She also like to bake, cook, and adore spending time with her husband, Mike and toddler son, Anthony.
