Eric Stone is an American weatherman working for WFLA News as a meteorologist since October 2021. Before joining the station, he worked at Fox 4 in Fort Myers and WINK-TV as a weekend meteorologist.

Stone joined Plymouth State University in Plymouth, N.H., where he achieved dual Bachelor’s degrees in both meteorology and applied mathematics. Later on, he attended the University of Utah in Salt Lake City and gained his Master’s degree in Meteorology.
Eric Stone Career
Stone works as a meteorologist at WFLA. He has lived in Florida since 2012. He began his TV career in 2001 as a weather producer/forecaster at KSTU Fox 13 in Salt Lake City. Before moving to sunny southwest Florida, he advanced as an on-air meteorologist at KSTU. In May 2009, he earned the AMS seal of approval while working at KSTU in Salt Lake City. Stone also took weather observations at the Salt Lake City International Airport for the FAA during the 12 years he lived in Salt Lake City.
The American Meteorological Society gave him the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) seal of approval in April 2014. He traveled to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and Joplin, Missouri research tornado damage when moving from Salt Lake City to Fort Myers. In January 2020, he finished fifth in the World Championship in Toronto, Canada, traveled to many parts of the U.S., and won the Open Pinball World Championship in Banning. He earned the No. 1 pinball rank in the world in January 2021. In 2017, he won the North American championship before competing in Denmark for the World Championship.
He spent his early childhood years in South Jersey which is about 45 minutes east of Philadelphia where he was born. When his not working, he enjoys going to the beach, soaking up this beautiful Florida weather, bike riding, and bowling, and has bowled in many leagues and in tournaments.
