Snitil works for WROC Channel8 News serving the station as a Chief Meteorologist. He was raised living and loving Great Lakes weather, on the shores of Lake Erie. Aside from this, he went on to forecast weather in Ohio, Alaska, and even Alabama which are some of America’s most challenging climates. Aside from this, he states that he is happy to be home in the region he was raised up in and closer to family.
He has previously worked for WSFA 12 News in Montgomery, Alabama serving the station as a Morning Meteorologist. There, he worked between October 2011 and August 2019. Additionally, he has worked for KTVA 11 News – Anchorage as a Morning Meteorologist. There, he worked between October 2010 and October 2011.
During his time in Alabama, many viewers credit Eric with saving lives with his coverage during severe weather while encouraging people to seek shelter immediately because of a tornado outbreak. Among the outpouring of gratitude and well wishes from viewers on social media, she states that one woman wrote that she saved her life in the Wetumpka tornado. Then, she stated that people should get a safe spot. Aside from his, she stated that her house and car were lost during that day. She states she got to her safe spot in time.
In the course of his forecasting career, he has been privileged to earn a Best Weathercast from the New York Broadcasters Association. Additionally, he received the same award from the Alabama Broadcasters Association and the Associated Press. He has also received the National Weather Association Seal of Approval.
