She is a two-time Emmy Award-winning journalist known for her exceptional reporting. Her career has been marked by covering significant events such as the Gulf oil spill, the Trayvon Martin and Casey Anthony cases, and her Emmy-winning coverage of wildfires in California.
Emily’s journey in journalism began with an internship at First Coast News. She started as a reporter in Mobile, Alabama, and later worked in Orlando before returning to Jacksonville with Channel 4. She transitioned to the anchor desk full-time in Tucson, Arizona, and briefly explored hosting and sideline reporting on NBC Sports Network. Furthermore, her return to the news industry brought her to San Francisco, where she spent seven years working for CBS in various roles, including anchoring, field reporting, and weather forecasting. With her recent return to Jacksonville, Emily completes the trifecta of newsrooms in her hometown.
Beyond her work in the newsroom, Emily is actively engaged in teaching English as a second language, enjoys playing golf, and regularly enrolls in community classes to acquire new skills. Additionally, she resides on the Southside with her husband, their little boy, and two beloved rescue dogs, a grouchy pug, and a golden retriever. Emily’s passion lies in both telling compelling stories and finding moments of joy and laughter.
