Prior to this, she had embarked on her journalism career at KTIV News 4 in Sioux City, starting as an intern and later transitioning to a full-time multimedia journalist.
In 2019, Emily earned her Bachelor of Arts in Media and Journalism, along with a minor in Creative Writing, from the University of South Dakota. During her time at the university, she actively engaged in student media, contributing to Coyote News and Coyote Radio.
