Cook works as the 5 p.m. co-anchor and night-side reporter at CBS News Bay Area, KPIX 5. When a protester shoved her and her cameraman she was in San Francisco’s Mission District reporting a chaotic Occupy march. As years go by, she would finish her 5 p.m. show and then instantly jump in a live truck to file breaking stories across the Bay Area for the 11 p.m. news.

She was elevated to co-anchor the station’s 11 p.m. edition with veteran journalist Ken Bastida in 2013. Her passion for journalism started when she was a senior in high school. Cook interned at ESPN and worked at The Jane Pauley Show at NBC while completing her degree in Broadcasting from the prestigious USC Annenberg School for Communication & Journalism.

Cook got her first on-air reporting job in Palm Springs after graduating. Before becoming the primary news anchor at KMIR-TV, she reported, produced, and worked as a multi-media journalist. At KMIR-TV she reported two of the deadliest fires in California history, visits from President George W. Bush, and the death of President Gerald Ford.

She is a two-time Edward R Murrow recipient and a 10-time Emmy. Also, she is the recipient of two NorCal RTNDA awards. Cook extensively reported the illegal sale and transport of guns in Oakland and the Occupy movement. Additionally, she reported Bay Area connections to some of the world’s biggest stories.

After the 2014 Napa earthquake, she anchored shows from downtown Main Street. During her free time, she loves exploring San Francisco restaurants with her husband, chasing after her son Beau, and embarking on the endless quest to find the best coffee in the Bay Area.
