She switched from radio to television after working for 34 years in radio journalism where she joined the 7 News team as senior reporter at WKBW in Buffalo.
From the Buffalo Niagara region, Eileen provided National Public Radio with reports of stories of interest. Her wide range of radio experience includes news radio production, reporting, anchoring, and public affairs programming. Throughout her career, she has worked most of her career as a news reporter at a number of top radio stations in Buffalo and Albany, such as WECK, WGR, WNED-AM, WBEN, WROW & WGNA, WBFO, and WBUF.
Buckley has been the recipient of several broadcast awards. In 2019 she earned a national media award for excellence in reporting and portrayal of mental health conditions during her prior reporting at WBFO by Mental Health America. She currently works with the Buffalo Broadcasters Association as a mentor, working with students to help shape future broadcast and journalism careers. She earned the “Pinnacle Award” from the Buffalo Broadcasters Association in the spring of 2013. The Award is presented to an individual who has exhibited outstanding performance over a career span of 25 years or more of service to the radio or television outlet in the Buffalo market.
